NASA 2021: Gov. Buni lauds Nigerian military’s sacrifice, effort in Yobe [Photos]

Governor Mai Mala Buni of Yobe State has commended the laudable efforts and sacrifices being made by the Nigeria Military, particularly troops of Sector 2 Joint Task Force North East Operation HADIN KAI which he said, have so far carried out the counter insurgency fight towards ensuring a lasting peace and stability in the Yobe and other parts of the North East sub region.
Bunu who stated this Saturday during the Headquarters Sector 2 Nigerian Army Social Activities(NASA) held in Damaturu Township Stadium acknowledged that the efforts of the troops of Operation HADIN KAI have provided an enabling environment and support to the state Government to strive in it’s activities.
Gov Buni who was represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Baba Mallam Wali also reaffirmed his administration’s determination to support security agencies in the fight Boko Haram insurgency in the north east of Nigeria, while reassuring his Government’s commitment to support Operation HADIN KAI with logistics within the State.
Earlier, the Commander Sector 2 Joint Task Force North East Operation HADIN KAI, Brigadier General Adamu Nura said the event usually hold annually as an avenue towards strengthening unity and live among the troops irrespective of tribe, religion and cultural background as means and ways of keeping the customs and traditions of the troops intact.
The Sector 2 Commander added that the event is meant to strengthen social relationships among officers, soldiers and their families as well as their friends through cultural displays, musical performances, comedies and other regimental activities.
The event according to him, is also aimed at appreciating the successes achieved throughout the year, 2021 within Sector 2 Area of Responsibility.
General Adamu was represented by the Chief of Staff, Sector 2 Command, JTF NE Operation Hadin Kai, Brigadier General Isang Akpaumontia,.
He noted that the event is usually organized to mark the end of tedious and eventful training and operational year, adding that it heralds the beginning of new training and operational year.
General Isang however disclosed that the event was conceived to create an atmosphere where officers and men would meet together outside the trenches of ongoing operations to unwind.
Highlights of the event include cultural dances from various ethnic groups, inspection of NASA, 2021 stands/foods, tug of war, group photographs, beating of retreat and lighting of bonfire among other musical displays and songs.
