2023: Please, don’t insult Tinubu – Osinbajo to supporters

Nigeria’s Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo has told his supporters not to abuse or denigrate the National leader of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Ahmed Tinubu.

Osinbajo’s admonition is coming at the backdrop of supporters of the Tinubu bashing Osinbajo who described as ingrate for having presidential ambition in 2023.

Change of Name

Osinbajo was quoted to have cautioned his supporters not to abuse Tinubu, even if Tinubu insulted his mother.

Prof. Osinbajo was Lagos State Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice during the APC National Leader when he was Governor of Lagos State.

Tinubu has disclosed his presidential ambition, while rumours were rife that Prof. Osinbajo would contest with his supporters from the northern block engaging in consultations.

Some supporters of Tinubu have accused Osinbajo of being an ingrate for not supporting Tinubu’s presidential quest despite what Tinubu did for him politically.

Sources close the VP, said Osinbajo is against any one abusing Tinubu and has therefore warned his supporters: “Even if his supporters abuse my mother, don’t retaliate. On no account must he be insulted or denigrated.”

The Emirs in the North it was alledged were behind Osinbajo. They believed that Osinbajo was loyal to President Muhammadu Buhari and should succeed his principal.

Apart from the emirs, four Northern Governors, two from the North-West and two from the North-Central, are also said to be rooting for the Vice President.
