Foremost businessman and philanthropist, Honourable Chief Mmerigwo Henry Iyke has congratulated the Super Eagles of Nigeria on their progression into the knockout round in the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON 2021) in Cameroon.
Nigeria went through to the round of 16 of the competition winning three of their group matches and advanced to the second round of the tournament in grand style.
The Super Eagles defeated the likes of Egypt and Sudan and yesterday’s opponents, Guinea Bissau to move into the knockout stages comfortably.
Celebrating the victory, the founder and Chief Executive Officer of Merimerid International Limited urged the Austin Eguavoen-led team to continue to maintain the strategy that made them triumph in the group
“This team is one of the bests we have had in a while, and Nigerians are backing them to make us proud in Cameroon.
“I am personally proud of them, and I am hopeful, this team can go all the way and win the trophy. They have a proud nation brimming with passion behind them, and we are also behind them all the way.
“We came third at the last tournament, so if we encourage them more, they will definitely push further from there. The team is filled with talented boys with an opportunity to make history, and I believe we will bring the cup home,” he said.
