Borno Deputy commends military for recent onslaught against terrorists

Borno State Deputy Governor, Hon.Umar Usman Kadafur has commended the recent successes recorded by the Nigerian military in the fight against Boko Haram insurgency,.

He also expressed hope that if the tempo is sustained, the crisis will soon come to an end .

The Deputy Governor stated this on Tuesday at the Joint Task Force North East Operation Hadin kai Headquarters and Headquarters 7 Division, Nigerian Army end of year joint annual social activities tagged, “NASA 2021 ” held at the Headquarters of Operation Hadin kai, Maimalari Cantonment Maiduguri.

He also said that the State government is always ready to continue to support the Nigerian military, all security personnel and CJTF end the Insurgency while praying God to grant the souls of the fallen heroes who paid their supreme price while at service in the front line .

The joint annual year activities is attended by Theater Commander North East JTF Operation Hadin Kai, Major General C.hris G. Musa, General Officer Commanding (GOC), 7 Division, Nigerian Army, Major General A.bdulwahab A Eyitayo, Brigade and Battalion Commanders, other Unit Commanders and top military officers among other dignitaries.

The Deputy Governor was accompanied to the event by Hon. Commissioner of Intergovernmental affairs and Special duties Engr. Mohammed Kabiru Wanori, Deputy Chief of Staff to the Deputy Governor, Alh. Haruna Hassan Tela, Special Adviser on Water Resources, Hon.Musa Ali Sakwa, Principal Secretary to the Deputy Governor, Alh. Isa Alkali Goni, Senior Special Assistants, Special Assistants to the Deputy Governor and Others.

While the Theater Commander, JTF Operation Hadin Kai, Major General Chris G. Musa in his welcome address noted that the West African Social Activities (WAS A) was initiated and introduced to the Nigerian Army by the Colonial Military where all members of the Nigerian Army cultural heritage of the diverse ethnic groups were given opportunity to interact and display their cultural potentials and abilities to entertain each other at a gathering with a view to strengthen unity and live among all the ranks and files.

It was also aimed at cementing existing relationships and promoting cultural heritage aming the soldiers while consolidating socio cultural relationship and backgrounds of the soldiers among others potentials .

General Musa noted also that later the celebration was named, “NASA”, that is Nigerian Army Social Activities which is being held every end of the year or beginning of every year for the soldiers to socialize with one another irrespective of tribal, origin, religious and educational background in the barrack or division or headquarters.

He thanked the state government for it’s support and assistance to the Nigerian military and the fight against boko Haram Insurgency while assuring the commitment and determination if the military to end the war this year Gods willing with the support and cooperation of all and sundry.
