The festering crisis in the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC deepened on Monday as the Director General of the Progressive Governors Forum (APC), Salihu Moh-Lukman resigned from office.

His resignation was as a result of leadership crisis in the party that has set APC governors against themselves.

It was revealed that governors have been divided into pro and anti Buni forces and for the past months, governor Mai Mala Buni who is the Chairman of Caretaker/Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee has been accused of over staying his period.

Buni, source told select journalists at the APC headquarters that he has been postponing the National Convention for unexplained reason, a development that triggered protracted crisis.

It was learnt that some governors who are against Buni were looking for opportunity to fight back.

Lukman who didn’t hide his feelings has been criticizing Mai Mala Buni openly and called for conduct of national convention for APC to elect its national executives.

He has openly petitioned Mai Mala Buni to the Chairman of Progressives Governors Forum, Alhaji Atiku Bagudu who is also the governor of Kebbi State, expressing his concern over failure to conduct national convention.

In the letter dated 5th January, 2022 titled:
“APC National Convention: Urgent Matters for the Survival of APC,” the Director-General of the PGF also called for the sack of the national secretary of the party, Senator John James Akpanudoedehe.

The DG alleged that the APC CECPC under the leadership of Governor Buni was using the ongoing national reconciliation assignment given to former Nasarawa state governor, Abdullahi Adamu as an excuse to abort the national convention.
