Federal Lawmaker condemns abduction of another Plateau monarch, urges Security to secure his freedom
Member representing Jos South/Jos East Federal Constituency of Plateau State in the House of Representatives Abuja Hon. Dachung Musa Bagos has on Monday expressed sadness and condemned the abduction of the paramount ruler of Vwang District, Jos South Local Government Da Gyang Ballat on Sunday night.
The Lawmaker in a press statement issued on Monday by his Media Assistant Danja Yakubu called on security agencies to immediately secured the freedom of the traditional ruler.
He described it as unfortunate, a situation where traditional rulers who are the custodians of the people are now target of kidnappers.
Bagos also urged the security agencies to track down those behind the kidnapping of the traditional ruler and bring them to justice.
The gunmen suspected to be kidnappers on Sunday night abducted another Traditional Ruler, Gwom Rwei of Vwang District, Jos South Local Government of Plateau State His Royal Highness Da Gyang Balak Gut.
Our Correspondent reports that the paramount ruler was kidnapped on Sunday night on his way home to Vom, few meters from the Gate of the National Institute For Policy and Strategic Studies, Kuru in Jos.
Plateau State Police Command Public Relations Officer ASP Gabriel Ubah confirmed the incident.
Vwang District is where the famous National Veterinary Research Institute (NVRI) and the Federal College of Soil and Land Resources Technology is situated in the State.
The abduction of the paramount ruler is coming in less than one month after the abduction of another traditional ruler in Plateau State, HRH Charles Dakat who has since regained his freedom.
