4 Federal University, Lafia kidnapped students regains freedom – Authority

Forty-eight hours after four students of the Federal University, Lafia (FULafia) were kidnapped, the management of the institution has announced that they have regain their freedom.

The students were abducted on January 2013.

The management of the University on Sunday in a statement signed by Abubakar Ibrahim, Head, Information and Public Relations Unit which was made available to journalists said the victims have been released late Saturday and are back to the school.

The statement quoted the Vice Chancellor of the school to have expressed joy over their freedom and he thanked Nasarawa State government and the public for their support and prayers.

The VC according thanked security operatives who swung into action that led to the quick release of the victims.

“Consequently upon their release, the students have undergone medical checks and they were all found to be in good conditions to immediately resume their studies.

He called on the students to remain calm and go about their normal activities on both campuses of the University.

He, therefore, assured the parents, students, and the public of the institution’s commitment to make lives and property safe in and around the campuses.
