He said there was high demand for house rents and land, but the buyers are usually duped by criminal elements who disguise as agents which events lead to litigation in Courts.

The Chairman maintained with the inauguration of the association, they would sanitise and rid the system of criminal elements.

“The demand for land and landed properties in Karu Local Government Area cannot be overemphasized and for this high demand for land and landed properties arises minor and sometimes major dispute between the buyers of lands and landed properties, the sellers or their agents.

“This dispute has been so frustrating, thereby deterring prospective buyers and settlers in Karu Local Government Area of Nasarawa State.”

“This dispute as minor as it may seem, has led to bloodshed and unnecessary litigations for lack of regulating body coordinating the activities of land and houses agents in Karu Local Government Area.

“However, it is our most humble and ardent hope that with the kick starting of the operation of this association in Karu Local Government Area, these issues leading to unnecessary dispute between the buyers of lands and landed properties, the sellers and their agents will be put to rest and or brought to its least.

“May I state further that it is for lack of co-cordinating and regulating body that does lead to unnecessary harassment by personnel of certain security agencies over issues that ordinarily should be settled warmly between the agents and their clients.

“Permit me to say that the essence of creating this association and establishment of its branch in Karu Local Government cannot be overemphasized but well-timed.

“May I further state that the establishment of the branch of this association in Karu Local Government will bring about harmonious working relationship between land and house agents, government agencies and its personnel.”

Zangina said, their operations would focus on curbing unnecessary threats and allegations of crimes against people of same businesses which has led to incarceration of certain innocent victims.

Speaking at the occasion, member representing Karu Gitata State Constituency and Chairman, House Committee on Land and Survey in Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Hon. David Maiyaki promised to support the association.

According to him, buyers have suffered in hands of the so-called agents noting that he personally had a sad experience in hands of agents which he believes, the association will properly organise genuine agents and middlemen in property business.

Also the Assistant Secretary of the association, Ademu Tanko lamented that some agents will collect landed property from buyers to market, but takes advantage of their ignorance and make money more than the property owner.

He warned the Chairman of cabal to stay away from distracting him from doing the right thing, saying that the association was already aware of their antics.

Our correspondent reports that the gathering included LP candidates from the 2023/2024 general elections, party executives, and support groups from the six local government areas of the Northern Senatorial District.

Besides, the focus of the discussions was centered on the state of the Labour Party at both national and state levels and the need for political realignment ahead of the 2025 party congresses and conventions.

The stakeholders further frowned at the structural weaknesses in LP and resolved to advise Barr Gyang Zi, to leave the party and join the APC while expressing confidence that the APC would provide him with a platform to advance good governance in the state .

The communique also emphasized the importance of political consultations, particularly with APC leaders at both state and national levels. It called for collaboration with Plateau State APC leaders, including Minister of Humanitarian Affairs Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda Goshwe, Sen. Simon Bako Lalong, Sen. Diket Plang, and other party officials.

According to the communique, supporters of Barr Gyang Zi also pledged to mobilize grassroots support for the APC, stating that their leader’s defection would strengthen the party in the state.

They urged the APC leadership to formally receive Gyang Zi and his supporters into the party, marking their official transition from the Labour Party.

Stakeholders also reiterated the need for inclusive governance, ensuring that youths, women, and less privileged individuals are sidelined in the democratic process and accordingly officially denounced their membership in the Labour Party, declaring their support for the APC.

They assured that all LP structures aligned with Gyang Zi would follow suit, shifting their loyalty to the ruling party in the state and at the National level.
