2023: Don’t vote non-indigene into gov’ship seat, Bala tells Bauchi electorates

With the 2023 elections gathering momentum, governor Bala Mohammed has warned Bauchi State electorates against voting into elective office any non-indigene particularly those coming from neighboring countries to claim indigenship of the State.
The governor gave the warning while addressing PDP ward leaders in Alkaleri, headquarters of his Local Government Area of the State during an interactive session with the party chiefs held in the area.
He holds the view that electorates of the state must desist from electing non indigenes into elective positions especially the plum office of the Executive Governor to avoid underperformance during stewardship.
According to him, voting responsible indigenes into elective positions would enable them interacts with their constituents in solving their socio-economic and political challenges with a view to meet their yearnings and aspirations.
“I want to seriously warn the people of Bauchi state against electing non indigenes during the forthcoming elections especially those coming from neighbouring countries such as Cameroon, as they don’t have anything to offer for your development”, he said.
Governor Bala added, “If such people come for business, we will welcome them but not for politics because politics is purely for people who knows the values of their people”.
The governor may apparently be referring to former Air Marshal Sadiq Abubakar whose fore great grandfather allegedly came from the Cameroon Republic, now aspiring for the governorship seat of Bauchi State come 2023 polls.
While appreciating the PDP ward leaders in Alkaleri Local Government Area for their support to his administration, the governor enjoined them to sustain the tempo for the success of the PDP led government in the State.
He observed that despite the numerous achievements recorded by his administration in the delivery of democracy dividends to the people, Bala assured doing more for the overall infrastructural development of the State.
PDP Chairman in Alkaleri Local Government Area, Alhaji Babayo Alkaleri has earlier in a welcome address, reaffirmed their support and cooperation to the governor to enable him achieve the set goals.
