Breaking: DSS invites Kukah for criticising Buhari’s soft handling of terrorists
The Department of State Security has invited the Bishop of Sokoto Diocese, Mathew Hassan Kukah for questioning over his recent comments.
His invitation may not be be unconnected with criticism of how President Muhammadu Buhari’s mishandling of terrorists and all forms of insecurity in the nation.
The popular Catholic Priest in his Christmas homily slammed President Muhammadu Buhari for failing to protect Nigerians as the President and Commander-in-Chief, hence, there’s been insecurity in large scale across the country.
He pointed out that Mr President has failed to demonstrate his competence, a situation that has led to coordinated violent attacks by the marauding bandits.
Kukah said Nigerians have lost count of spate of attacks by bandits, terrorists and other criminal elements across the country, stressing that great number of families have been kidnapped without being reported in the media.
The Catholic Bishop said: “Does the President of Nigeria not owe us an explanation and answers as to when the abductions, kidnappings, brutality, senseless, and endless massacres of our citizens will end? We need urgent answers to these questions.”
His scathing comments have nonetheless irked the secret Police who have summoned him for further interrogation, but CAPITAL POST learnt on Saturday that the fiery Bishop was yet to honour the invitation.
