Everton in talks to sign Nathan Patterson from Rangers
Everton are in talks with Rangers over a fee to secure the signing of Nathan Patterson, The Athletic understands.
The 20-year-old was the subject of interest from Everton in the summer but Rangers rejected their approach.
Rafa Benitez is still in the hunt for a right-back though and there is confidence that a deal will be done.
Everton have upped the figures involved and it is expected that Rangers will receive a club-record fee that will surpass what they received from Tottenham Hotspur for Alan Hutton in 2008, which was in excess of £9 million.
Patterson has only started six times for Rangers this season and has been open to making the move to the Premier League given he finds himself behind captain James Tavernier.
The move would see him multiply his wage several times over and could also help secure his spot as first-choice in the Scotland national team.
