Uzodinma planning to publish names of political opponents as IPOB sponsors
The proscribed Peoples of Biafra (IPOB) on Thursday said, Imo State governor, Senator Hope Uzodinma was planning to implicate his political opponents as IPOB sponsors.
The organisation said, names of Hope Uzodinma’s perceived political opponents are being compiled ahead of January 3, when the governor said, names of IPOB sponsors would be revealed.
IPOB in a statement which was made available to journalists by its Spokesman, Emma Powerful, said 18 suspects arrested by security agencies had named their sponsors, promising to reveal their identities and roles at a stakeholders’ meeting on January 3.
IPOB warned Imo State governor to desist from naming his political foes as sponsors of IPOB, adding that blackmailing his political rivals were not the way to go.
The statement reminded Uzodinma that IPOB is a self-sponsored Organisation as nobody has the capacity to backroll the the movement, adding that Uzodinma is a confused man.
“IPOB is a self-sponsored global movement. We have no sponsor from anywhere because no individual has the capacity to bankroll this movement.
“In case Uzodimma doesn’t know, IPOB is not like a political party that depends on godfathers to exist. We don’t accept donations from politicians and even Uzodimma knows this.
“If we accept donations from politicians, Uzodimma would have been one of our sponsors, but he is disappointed that we are not swayed by money. We have never hidden our sources of sponsorship, members of this great global family willingly and gladly finance the movement.”
