Bandits once again carried out a deadly attack on Tuesday evening and killed the District Head Gada in Bungudu Local Government Council of Zamfara State after he resisted abduction.
The traditional ruler, Alhaji Umaru Danbawan Allah was shot and his house set ablaze.
Reports confirmed that bandits came on motorbikes and attacked villagers at random thereby killed unconfirmed number of villagers as well.
Villages and communities in Zamfara State have been under bandits attack for quite sometimes now.
Some villagers are currently paying levies and taxes for them to have access to their farmlands and also to have peace.
Zamfara locals are predominantly farmers, and cattle rearers, but knows no rest due to banditry attacks and cattle rustling.
In 2019, the state government entered a peace agreement with the gunmen.
About 15 brand new Hilux vehicles and cash gifts were also given to leaders of different ‘repentant’ gangs of bandits by the governor in 2020.
But despite all these, communities in the state are still being attacked and residents kidnapped and/or killed.
