Senator Amosun’s controversies made Ogun lose Dangote refinery to Lagos – Gov. Abiodun

The Executive governor of Ogun State, Dapo Abiodun has lamented how Ogun State government lost the citing of multi-billion dollar Dangote Oil Refinery due to the many controversies of the past governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun.

He said Ibikunle Amosun who now represent Ogun Central Senatorial district disagreed with Alhaji Aliko Dangote on issues and the State lost the hosting of $16 billion to Lagos.

Change of Name

Governor Abiodun spoke while delivering Convocation Lecture at the 2nd and 3rd convocation ceremony of the Mountain Top University.

Speaking on the topic: ‘Quest for Excellence: The Nexus of Faith, Knowledge and Resilience’, he called his days as Chairman of Olokola Free Trade Zone that was meant to have the Dangote refinery cited in Ogun Waterside.

He the former governor and lawmaker didn’t take into consideration some concessions and the discussion with Aliko Dangote broke down.

Abiodun added that the project was conceived with the aim of not just refining petroleum in Ogun, but also take advantage of the mining lease that had been awarded around that corridor that has even not begun to be exploited.
