Okorocha’s son-inlaw was arrested – Police
The Imo State Police Command has refuted claims making the round that Hon Uche Nwosu was abducted from a church where he was fellowshipping with his family on Sunday morning.
Uche who doubles as the former Chief of Staff to the ex-Imo State governor, Rochas Okorocha and a son-in-law was alledgedly kidnapped at St Peters Anglican Church at Eziama Obieri in Nkwerre Local Government Council of Imo State.
Amid uncertainty of Nwosu’s abduction, Imo State Commissioner of Information denied that governor Hope Uzodinma has hands in Nwosu’s ordeal.
In a statement by the Police Public Relations Officer, CSP Michael Abattam of Imo State State Police Command, confirmed Nwosu’s arrest and not abduction as being speculated.
The statement said, he was immediately taken into custody after his arrest.
The statement said: “This is to inform the general public that chief Uche Nwosu was not kidnapped but was arrested by the police and Imo State Police Command is aware of the arrest and presently he is in Police custody.
“This is to refute the earlier news that has being making rounds on social media that he was kidnapped by unknown persons/gunmen.
“The Commissioner of Police while using this medium to assure Imolites of the Command’s commitment in ensuring the safety of live and prosperity this yuletide seasons, advised the general public to always shun fake news.”
