A Civil Society Organization, the Civil Society Groups for Transparency and Accountability has passed a vote of confidence on the Chairman Senate Committee on Appropriation Senator Barau Jibrin during a protest at the National Assembly in Abuja.

This is coming few days after a group staged a protest attacking the personality of Senator Barau Jibrin and calling him an agent of distabilization in Kano State.

Spokesman of the group Comrade Sunday Attah while debunking what he described as campaign of calumny by this group pointed accusing fingers on the incumbent governor of the state Abdullahi Ganduje for sponsoring the attack. Comrade Attah said the attack are all channeled to discredit the image of Senator Jibrin before the general public particularly Kano indigenes.

“Yesterday some miscreants hired and sponsored by the Kano State government hiding under a pseudo group gathered at the National assembly to throw jibes and insults against Senator Barau Jibrin but what they failed to understand is that they are being used by a highly corrupt governor who’s dollar stuffing video has continue to give Nigeria a bad name in the international community”.

“We are here today to set all records straight and we call on Governor Abdulahi Ganduje and his misguided advisers to desist from their evil machinations and come to terms with reality of the fact that Senator Barau Jibrin following his political achievements cannot be dwarfed or subjugated in the eyes of his constituents and the Nigerian public”.

The group while passing a vote of confidence on Senator Jibrin went reeled out the achievements and contributions as an outstanding Senator who along with his colleagues in the Senate have worked hard to deliver the vision of president Muhammadu Buhari and his agenda to return the nations budgetary system back to the January and December circle.

The group said under the leadership of Senator Jibrin budget padding has become a thing of the past and transparency, openness and accountability is now the order of the day.

A member of the group Comrade Sunday Asuku also condemn the campaign against Senator Jibrin, he said the group can not fold its hand and see the good image of Senator Jibrin being maligned by political opponents within Kano State.

“We cannot see the name of this hard working senator and other good Nigerian who have contributed immensely to the development of Kano State and Nigeria being dragged to the mud as such we condemn in strong terms and ask suck persons to desist from the unpatriotic and destructive move”.

The group then called on the EFCC the ICPC and the Immigration Service to be on red alert and put all surveillance
On Governor Abdullahi Ganduje as credible information suggest that the governor is planning to go on exile to avert justice after leaving office.
