Kogi government orders screening of traditional rulers
Administrators of the 21 local government areas in Kogi State have been ordered to screen all traditional rulers so as to fish out fake ones among them.
In a statement signed by the Special Assistant to the Commissioner of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Rufai Enero Sule, said that traditional rulers in Kogi State have been infiltrated, hence, there was need for the screening.
The statement explained that the order was handed down by the Commissioner, Barrister Salami Momodu Ozigi on Monday in a meeting with Administrators of Local Governments in the state.
“Henceforth any one found parading himself in traditional Chief’s regalia without the authority of government will be apprehended and dully charged to court for impersonation “The statement said.
Ozigi also directed all the local government Administrators to always remain in their various areas of assignment, warning that whoever flouts the directive would be sanctioned.
