2023: PDP is no alternative, can’t win elections – James Akpanudoedehe
The National Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Caretaker Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee CECPC, Senator James John Akpanudoedehe has said the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is not an alternative to take over government in the 2023 general election.
Senator Akpanudoedehe gave the indication when APC State chairmen paid him a courtesy visit at the party National Secretariat in Abuja.
According to him, the opposition party cannot win in the next general election considering the record set in for sixteen years in power.
He said that the achievements of APC administrations at the state and federal levels are glaring and the PDP has no chance of convincing Nigerians to contemplate voting for it.
The National Secretary also said despite the many challenges the ruling party encountered since assumption to office, it recorded successes in the fight against insurgency and even won bye-elections compare the opposition party.
“We inherited insurgency, we have deal with it as we speak, not one inch of any territory of Nigerian states is been occupied by any group. Before we took over government, they took over the whole states, they hosted their flags, today they don’t.
“We are not saying we are perfect, but the message is that even in our imperfection as a government, PDP is not alternative to APC.
“If you are talking about replacing APC please, it cannot be you. It can never be you because Nigerians are too intelligent” he said.
Responding to insinuations from some quarters that the ruling party will crash before the next general elections, he said “We will not scatter, rather we will be stronger and stronger”.
Earlier, the Caretaker Chairman of the Delta State APC Chapter, Prophet Jones Erue, who spoke on behalf of the Caretaker State Chairmen of the party, expressed absolute loyalty to the leadership of the Caretaker Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee led by the Governor of Yobe State, Mai Mala Buni.
He said that all the state chairmen have resolved to stand with the Caretaker Committee and give it every support to succeed in its assignment.
He also declined all attempts by individuals and group who through unconstitutional methods try to destabilise and change the leadership of the party.
“We dont know the youths who claimed to have changed the leadership of the party. They are not part of us,” he said.
