Comrade Usman Austin Okai, a concerned Citizen of Kogi State who is best known for his Political activism has yesterday informed his followers & Kogi State citizens of the plans in place to drag those masquerading around the 20 Billion Bailout Funds meant to offset the salaries of Kogi State Workers.

The activist who has been in the news in recent times, opposing the nonchalant attitude of Kogi State Government towards his subjects, especially workers in the state makes this known yesterday via his Facebook handle.

Change of Name

In his text, the People’s Democratic Party frontier was quoted as saying, “I have informed my lawyer concerning the Kogi 19.3 Billion Naira Bailout Fund. Yahaya Bello made us to understand that the money doesn’t belong to the state and the federal government, that the said money is meant for civil servants.”

This has provided enough ground for me to wade in my efforts and resources as a concerned citizen who has the love of my State at heart. I have instructed my lawyer to stand firm with me in that legal tussle, Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), has the BVN and Account number of the Civil servants, the money can be paid to them directly using different measures, Okai argued.

I am also joining the suit, compelling EFCC to order sterling Bank to publish documents authorizing the opening of fixed deposit account in the name of Kogi State Government. I am a concern citizen and I am standing for the innocent civil servants of my own State.

This is coming following several months of uncertainty concerning the N20 billion bailout funds belonging to the good people of Kogi State.

Recall that, after series of investigation, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), ordered the transfer of the remaining 19.3 billion naira from sterling Bank account signatory to the Kogi State Government back to the Central Bank of Nigeria.

Okai’s involvement, if handled with outmost proficiency will no doubt be of immense benefit to the people of the State, especially civil servants who have become victims of the sad development.

Meanwhile, a school teacher on level 10 in one of the Kogi State basic Schools, told CAPITAL POST on Tuesday that teachers in the State haven’t been paid their November salaries yet.

She lamented that since January this year, Kogi workers have been on percentage salaries, a sad development that a level development 10 teacher could be paid N10,000 per month and if there was any deduction, it some times reduced to N1,000.p
