Police confirm kidnap of Bello’s Chief of Staff’s mother

The report of abduction of Chief of Staff to governor Yahaya Bello’s mother on Monday evening from her residence has been confirmed by Kogi State Commissioner of Police, CP Idirisu Dabban on Tuesday.

CAPITAL POST earlier reported that the CoS to the governor, Pharmacist Jamiu Asuku’s mother was abducted when kidnappers disguised in suits passed through a mosque and entered her room before whisking her away.

Kidnappers stormed at about 7.40pm Monday after Mrs Seriya Raji observed evening (Ishai) prayer in her mosque within the house.

A resident of Inese/Ovakere new layout in Nagazi community, Adavi LGA where the mother of the chief of staff Mrs Seriya Raji resided told newsmen.

According to the source, they were six in number with a ‘Ghana must go’ bag suspected to be full of guns and dangerous weapons they will use for their operations.

Though, the abductors were yet to put a call demanding for ransom, the CP said, reports of abduction of Pharmacist Jamiu of mother was true, stating that operates of Kogi State Police Command have been mobilised into action to track the criminal elements.

He said the entire Kogi Central would be combed, while he expressed optimism that they will be brought to justice.

“My officers will comb the entire Central Senatorial district and border towns in Edo with a view to rescue the mother of the Chief of Staff kidnapped on Monday evening” he noted.
