APC crisis in Zamfara: Yari suffers defeat in Court
A faction of ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) controlled by the former governor of Zamfara, Abdul’aziz Yari has lost its case on Friday.
Yari suffered defeat at the Federal High Court sitting in Gusau, the Zamfara State capital when the case he instituted challenging the National Caretaker Committee Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Mai Mala Buni’s decision to dissolve the existing leadership of the party in the Zamfara was dismissed.
Justice Amina Bappa submitted that the case brought by the former governor bothered on internal affairs of the party which should be resolved internally before approaching the Court of competent jurisdiction.
Yari’s lawyer, Barrister DC Enweem in his reaction, said the Judge ruled based on his experience, adding that they will study the case to know whether to appeal or not.
But Counsel to the governor of Yobe State and Chairman of APC Caretaker Committee, Barrister Shamsudeen Mohammed said the court did what it was supposed to do.
He expressed optimism that if the ex-governor appeals, he will still be defeated.
CAPITAL POST recalled that the former governor of Zamfara State, Abdul’aziz Yari and former Senator, Kabir Marafa have approved Court to challenge the dissolution of APC Zamfara State executive.
