According to Kiyawa “Today, 02/12/2021 at about 0800hrs, a report was received that, thugs (Yan Daba) carrying dangerous weapons were sighted attacking and vandalizing the office of Senator Barau Jibrin, Senator representing Kano North Senatorial District along Maiduguri Road Kano.”

Meanwhile, Kano State government has not officially reacted to the attack barely 24 hours after the incident happened.
The Ganduje APC led in Kano has been enmeshed in supremacy battle with serving Senators and some members of the House of Representatives as well as ex-governors thereby made the battle an epic one.
Few days ago, the Federal High Court delivered judgement sacking the factional party executives controlled by the governor and recognised those of Senator Ibrahim Shekarau.
