Billionaire kidnapper, Evan’s co-defendant is dead
Chiemeka Arinze, a co-defendant of the Billionaire kidnapper Evans who’s real name is Chukwudumeme Onwuamadike is dead.
Arinze reportedly died in Lagos hospital after he was rushed there from the prison custody where he has since been in detention.
It is recalled that Evans who was last week convicted to die by hanging stood trial with late Chiemeka Arinze, Joseph Emeka and Udeme Ukpong, over the attempted kidnap of Chief Vincent Obianodo, the Chairman of the Young Shall Grow Motors, before Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo of an Ikeja Special Offences Court.
They were facing a 7-count charge
of murder, attempted murder, conspiracy to commit kidnapping, attempt to kidnap and sale and transfer of firearms.
Late Arinze’s lawyer, it was said, had filed a bail application last week for his client to be released for medical treatment, while the continuation of trial in the case is coming up today and it was slated for the bail application to heard, before they heard of the death of the defendant.
