Youth leader gets award of excellence

A merit award of the Aluta Icon of Advocacy and most active youth mobiliser of the year 2021 has been conferred to the Director General of the Committee of Youth on Mobilization and Sensitisation (CYMS) Mr Obinna Nwaka.

The award was presented by a media outfit known as Aluta News in commemoration of its second anniversary on Saturday in Abuja.

This is in recognition of his (Nwaka)’s active involvement in advocacy, youth mobilization for sustainable empowerment and active political participation.

Speaking at the ceremony, the Chief Executive Officer of Aluta News, Mallam Gambo Haruna said the gesture is to encourage individuals with outstanding track records who have been motivational tools in the society and supportive in nation building.

He added that the Awardee is a chronicle of a technocrat who have carved a niche for himself in the Nigerian socio-economic and political sphere.

In his remarks, Director General CYMS, Obinna Nwaka appreciated the media organization for the recognition.

According to him, gone are those days when leaders mobilize youth for political thuggery, ballot snatching and undemocratic activities.

He assured that his office will continue to sensitize youths in the country for meaningful development.

The 2nd Anniversary with the theme; “The role of the youth in politics” had in attendance dignitaries such as nephew of President Muhammadu Buhari Barr Halimatu Sadiyat Muhammadu who was of the awardees among others.
