2023: Over 23 persons jostling for Plateau governorship
Over 23 governorship aspirants from the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, and the rival Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, have indicated interest for the 2023 polls.
Mr Kizito Dankat Gukas is one of the aspirants on the political turf of Plateau State is unsettling the polity, CAPITAL POST findings confirm.
For the team of Mr. Gukas, the journey that started shortly after the 2019 general election is gathering momentum as the silent movement was a strategy, Hon. Sunday Davou Lochang, a spokesperson for the team has hinted.
For the first time, the campaign posters of Mr. Kizito has adorned Jos North, Jos South and other LGAs. It was gathered that it was a deliberate act aimed at changing the political narrative of the state; having caught many by surprises.
Mr. Lochang who would not agree that the “Gukas Solidarity Movement” (GSM) is coming out late with her aspirant when most Plateau inhabitants are finding it difficult to accept the fact that the people might have made up their minds as to who to go with under the basis of first-come- first-serve, he added that the credibility and administrative competence of “Kizito Gukas is what will stand him out among others.”
According to him, the GSM team was on its final lap of consultations with major stakeholders across party lines, religious and the business community, youths and the women groups. Most of them have seen reason with his aspiration and have pledged their loyalty and support towards its success.
The aspirant who will ply his aspiration in the All Progressives Congress (APC) is a Civil Servant with a track record to showcase, has also been a major influence on the youths with a difference because of his disposition on mutual respect for each other and being our brother’s keeper
In his mid 50s, he is a Mwaghavul by Tribe from Mangu LGA and is a graduate of the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria; University of Jos and National Open University of Nigeria.
