Ahead of 2023 general election, Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo has opened his campaign office in Abuja.
The campaign office which was opened on Saturday followed the inauguration of the campaign team, Progressives Consolidated Group (PCG) under the headship of Dr Aliyu Kurfi.
The ceremony which took place at the campaign office located at No. 15b, Buchanan Crescent, Off Aminu Kano, by Emab Plaza Wuse II, Abuja was low keyed for reasons best known to the campaign team as it’s wasn’t a media hype arrangement.
The campaign office is already decorated with the Vice President’s banner with inscription “Face of Hope.”
Dr. Aliyu Kurfi who is the Chairman of the pro-Osinbajo group is President Muhammadu Buhari’s kinsman from Katsina.
Though, the group have started their consultation early enough, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo who hails from Ogun State in the South West, Nigeria hasn’t yet indicated his interest to contest the 2023 presidency.
Other members of the team include; Musa Liman as Deputy chairman North, Dr Ebenezer Faji as Deputy Chairman South, Dr. Eli Eberechukwu Dibia as Vice Chairman, Dr. Ahmed Muhammed as the National Coordinator, Dr. Usman Ibrahim as Organising Secretary and Barrister Emmanuel Pippa as the Publicity Secretary.
The inauguration was just as the National leader of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Ahmed Bola Tinubu was intensifying his consultation and had visited the Senate Chief Whip, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu at his residence located at the presidential villa, Abuja.
Through, the duo held a close door meeting, feelers said, the meeting might be connected with the presidential ambition of Bola Tinubu.
