Breaking: APC releases timetable for Osun, Ekiti governorship elections
Barely a week after Anambra governorship election that was won by the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), the All Progressives Congress (APC) has released its timetable for next year’s (2022) governorship elections for Ekiti and Osun States.
This was disclosed in an official notice signed by the National Secretary of the Caretaker Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee CECPC, Sen. John James Akpanudoedehe on Sunday.
The notice also revealed that sale of nomination forms for Ekiti begins 16th November and 18th November 2021 for Osun.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had earlier fixed June 18, 2022, for the Ekiti governorship election and July 16, 2022, for the same exercise in Osun State.
In Osun, governor Olugboyega Oyetola is serving his first term of Office, hence, another election will be conducted which he was expected to re-contest, while in Ekiti, the incumbent governor, Dr Kayode Fayemi would have served his second term of office.
Both governors are members of the ruling All Progressives APC.
