Obasanjo leads soccer squad to tackle Kanu, Okocha, other ex-internationals

Ex-president Olusegun Obasanjo, 84, will personally lead a football team that will tackle Kanu Nwankwo, Jay Jay Okocha and other ex-internationals at the Moshood Abiola Stadium, Abeokuta, Ogun State.

In today’s duel, ex-captain of Green Eagles, Segun Odegbami will lead his own squad which includes Mutiu Adepoju, Kanu Nwankwo, Ja Jay Okocha and others.

Change of Name

The free novelty match was part of the Chief Olusegun Obasanjo Foundation’s celebration of World Diabetes Day and will kick at 3.00pm on Sunday.

Information reaching CAPITAL POST also said, Obasanjo is the captain of his own team which is known as OBJ All Stars.

Obasanjo was said to have been embarking on training in his bid to defeat the Segun Odegbami led team on Sunday.

After the match, the Foundation would embark on free medical care and screening as part of activities lined up to mark the world diabetes day and will take place at the car park of the marque of Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library, Abeokuta, Ogun State.

The ceremony will be rounded up with a dinner by 7.00pm at the marque events centre located at the Library.
