Only Senator Barau’s Constituency projects out of 100 monitored was best – ICPC

The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) has given Senator Jibrin Barau a clean bill of health for meeting quality Constituency projects execution in Kano State.

The anti-graft agency carried out Investigations which it said, it used heavy documents on Constituency Projects in Kano, only Senator Barau Jibrin Representing Kano North Senatorial district made it.

According to the agency, over 104 Constituency projects were investigated in Kano State during its third phase of
executive and constituency projects tracking before they arrived at the conclusion.

It explained that 16 of the projects of other lawmakers were poorly executed, while 3 were abandoned.

Our online platform learnt that part of the project’s monitoring team discovered that 79 contractors were involved in the project’s execution and nine of them have been directed to return to site due to shoddy jobs.

The agency revealed that the former governor and Senator representing Kano Central Senatorial district, Ibrahim Shekarau, Hon. Mustapha Bala Dawaki representing Dawakin-Kudu/Warawa and Hon. Mukhtar Mohammed representing Kura/Madobi/Garun Malam Federal Constituencies have the worst projects execution in Kano.


“Out of the Federal lawmakers who sponsored the various projects, one Senator and two House of Representative members had the worst poorly executed projects which include Kano Central Senator, Malam Ibrahim Shekarau, Hon. Mustapha Bala Dawaki , member representing Dawakin-Kudu/Warawa Federal Constituency and Hon. Muktar Mohammed, Kura/ Madobi/ Garun Malam Federal Constituency.

‘’Incidentally, Senator Barau Jibrin had the best constituency projects executed to specification,’’ the document revealed. It was gathered that the constituency projects sponsored by the federal lawmakers include: Construction of class room blocks, Solar powered street lights and distribution of transformers.

”We need the support of the general public and the media in the monitoring of these projects, especially the on-going electricity substation in Bichi, ” according to the document. ”One of the constituency projects that is on-going is the electricity sub- station in Bichi Local Government Area and the recovery of a Ford model pick up.
