The Vice Chairman of Olamaboro Local Government Area, Hon. Blessing Aishat Ekele has commended the Kogi State Deputy governor, Chief Edward David Onoja (CEDO) for his recent visit to Ojibo Igah, HRH Onuche Shuaibu, in his palace, to felicitate with him over grading of the ancestral stool to 2nd class status, after being stagnated for over 200 years.

Change of Name

In a statement signed by her on Thursday and made available to journalists in Lokoja, Hon. Ekele said with immense gratitude she registered her sincere appreciation to CEDO, as he is fondly called by his teeming admirers for the historic visit to the palace of Ojibo in Igah recently.

“For the first time, since the existence of the ancestral stool , a sitting deputy governor is visiting our paramount ruler. It’s a mark of honour and recognition . We really appreciate his kind gesture, for according us a sense of belonging”, she said

The Magajia 1 of Uke kingdom in Nassarawa state who abandoned the comfort zone of chiefdom to serve her people also extended appreciation to other government officials and all those in the entourage of the Deputy governor during the visit .

“For two centuries , our people have suffered great neglect; and have been agitating for the grading of our paramount ruler.

“But under your able leadership as the deputy governor of the state, the dream and aspiration of my people has come to fruition. Today, our monarch is 2nd class in status”, she expressed.

She stressed further that the dawn of a new era in the ancestral stool of Ojibo Igah, has aptly described the new generation leadership headed by governor Yahaya Bello as true agent of justice, change and restoration .

“This too has made good the axiom that says ‘when the right person hold sway in any leadership position, the people rejoice’.

“Our people were overwhelmed over the grading of our paramount ruler to 2nd class status . We will continue to stand and support the people’s governor, His Excellency, Alhaji Yahaya Bello whose change matrix has given a voice, defined status or identity to our monarch; after over 200 years struggle in that direction, with no good result, under succeeding administrations”, she expressed.
