Nigeria to host 51st CPA conference – Hon Galadima
Hon. Zakari Ya’u Galadima has revealed that the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association Africa region would be holding its 51th annual conference on November 8, 2021 in the nation’s capital – Abuja.
Hon Galadima who spoke to pressmen at his office in Abuja shortly after a preparatory conference sequel to the up coming CPA meeting.
The Lawmaker also added that the November 8 Conference theme is IMPACT OF THE PANDEMIC IN THE REGION AND THE ROLE OF PARLIAMENT.
The Yobe born legislator added that Nigeria’s President Muhammad Buhari would declare the conference open while the Chairman of the conference for that day would be the President of the Senate. Dr. Ahmad Lawan.
Nonetheless, the legislator also said that the chairman designate is the Speaker of the House, Femi Gbajabiamilla.
Hon. Ya’u further disclosed that Nigeria would present the lead paper on November 12. Explained that the essence of the conference is to harness ideas from the various papers presented by experts and make judicious use of them for the benefit of the region .
While answering questions on the insecurity bedeviling the country, Hon. Galadima gave President Muhammadu Buhari a pass mark, saying that before the coming of President Buhari, Boko Haram members terrorised Yobe to the extent that residents of that state could not sleep.
“But with the coming of President Buhari, things were normalised”, he said.
