Shehu Sani tells Buhari to declare bandits federal workers
In sarcastic mood, former Senator representing Kaduna Central Senatorial distric, Shehu Sani has told President Muhammadu Buhari to declare bandits federal civil servants.
The Civil Rights activist who wrote on his verified Twitter handle on Monday said, it should be so since President Buhari refused to declare bandits terrorists.
He decried the killing of Christian and Muslim worshippers by bandits and other criminal elements in their religious houses.
Commenting via his Twitter handle, Sani said: “They [bandits] killed Muslim worshippers in their mosques in Niger and Katsina states; they killed Christians in their Churches in Kaduna State; if the government doesn’t want to declare them terrorists, it should declare them federal civil servants.”
His reaction was at the backdrop of fresh attack on Baptist Church where
some gunmen suspected to be bandits invaded the Church in Kakau Daji in Chikun Local Government Area of Kaduna State, killing two while scores were abducted.
According to him, the suspension of telecommunication in some parts of the North as a way to curtail bandits’ activities were useless and not achieving results.
He said, “Yesterday’s attacks on the Baptist Church Kakau Daji, Kaduna State by terrorists, the killing of some worshippers and the abductions of scores of others are tragic and unfortunate. The suspension of the telecoms services in the North is useless.”
Banditry activities has been on the increase in the northern part of the country.
