It would have been a tragedy on Thursday as train which Senator Shehu Sani who represented Kaduna Central Senatorial district in the 8th Senate said the train he boarded ran over an explosive, which subsequently ‘damaged Kaduna-Abuja rail track’.
The former lawmaker said he and others miraculously escaped being hurt.
He gave the revelation on his Twitter handle, saying, “it took a miracle for us to escape.
Sani said the similar thing happened the previous day, Wednesday on Abuja – Kaduna rail track.
According to him, terrorists have turned to attacking train now as they attacked
the Kaduna Abuja railway using explosive while they also opened fire targeting the Engine Driver and the Tank.
“This morning, I was on board when our train ran over another explosive damaged rail track. It took a miracle for us to escape,” he wrote.
Meanwhile, the Managing Director of the Nigeria Railway Corporation (NRC), Fidet Okhiria in a recent statement said there would be reduction in trips to allow maintenance.
