As part of its effort to reclaim power in 2023, the pro Igala group operating under the aegis of Igala Vanguard has identified personalities within the rank of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kogi State who have sworn an oath secretly to sabotage the Igala’s agitation for a return of power in 2023.

The group in a statement by its National Coordinator, Engr Lawrence Ankpa warned those personalities who have signed a pact with Yahaya Bello’s current Chief of Staff, Pharmacist Jamiu Asuku as Bello’s successor come 2023.

Change of Name

Ankpa said such an eventuality is just a mere wishful thinking and has identified some key Kogi East political leaders as being the champion of what he called selfish 2023 agenda. Ankpa while warning against the repeat of ENEMUNEME slogan of 2019 said Kogi State has suffered enough in the hands of Bello and the State is eager for fresh air.

The statement mention the member representing Ankpa 2 constituency, Hon Alhaji Alfa Momoh Rabiu as the ring leader and the Kogi East All Progressives Congress (APC) zonal Chairman, Hon Muhammed Nasiru Alfa as another strong man in this conspiracy against Igala and the entire Kogi East.

Other members are Hon. Abuh Odoma, Chairman Idah Local Government Council, Musa Haruna Idoko, Alhaji Friday Contractor and Prince Ishiaq Okolo, Dekina local Government Council Chairman, Engr Lawrence Ankpa has called on Igala to stand up to this emerging threat and warned that 2023 may be worse than what happened in 2019 – where a woman was burnt alive in Igala land to please Ebira.

Group in a statement cautioned Hon. Rabiu Siaka Alfa to learn from how Bello used Edward Onoja and Hon Ahmed Attah against Igala and dumped them – and that they too will be no different. Engr Lawrence Ankpa also criticized Yahaya Bello – who just upgraded Ebira traditional rulers into 1st classes and 2nd classes against Igala who are the majority. He described the governor’s action as childish and myopic thinking that power will remain in Ebira land forever.

Igala Vanguard while calling on Igala leaders to speak out against the ongoing impunity in the State warned that 2019 must never be allowed to repeat itself.
