Security agents in fresh onslaught eliminate over 50 bandits in Kaduna forest
Combined security forces took battle to the forest in Birnin Gwari Local Government Area of Kaduna State and eliminated over 50 bandits.
A statement by the Hon. Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Samuel on Tuesday said, there was aerial and ground assault on the criminal gangs that dealt a deadly blow on bandits.
Aruwan described the outing by security forces as an inspiring success by the combined ground and air assault in the Saulawa-Farin Ruwa axis of Birnin Gwari LGA.
“Operational feedback to the Kaduna State Government from the Command of the Joint Operations, a Nigerian Air Force helicopter gunship provided close air support to ground troops advancing from the Dogon Dawa-Damari-Saulawa axis.
He explained that the feat was made possible as bandits who were spotted on five motorcycles in attempt to ambush the troops through scanning were taken out by the helicopter gunship.
Also, about 50 bandits fleeing on motorcycles towards Farin Ruwa were struck effectively by the gunship before the group troops moved in to do a clearing of the remnants.
“A second helicopter gunship joined the operations, and many more fleeing bandits were neutralized by precise strikes. The assessment revealed that more than 50 bandits were neutralized during the joint operation.
“Governor Nasir El-Rufai expressed his satisfaction at the operational feedback and congratulated the ground troops and gunship crews on the rout.”
