5 persons roasted in petrol tanker explosion in Adamawa
Five persons have been reportedly killed in petrol fire explosion in Mubi town of Adamawa State, Northeast Nigeria.
Eye witness recounted that in the early hours of Wednesday, fuel was being transferred directly from the tanker into hundreds of jerry cans at a filling station in Kasuwan Gyela when it eventually went aflame.
According to eye witnesses, five persons were roasted, while several others who were collecting fuel in Jerry cans sustained severe burns.
A resident who identified himself as
Adamu Madobi, said he saw three brothers perish in the tragic fire, while some tricycles popularly called ‘keke’ which were parked in the filling station caught fire.
Dr. Muhammad Sulaiman, the Executive Secretary of the Adamawa State Emergency Management Agency (ADDEMA), confirmed the fire incident, noting that three people had died and two others were being treated at an undisclosed hospital.
