Apostle Suleiman blasts Nigeria Doctors for abandoning patients suffering other ailments for COVID-19
Founder of Omega Fire Ministries International, Apostle Suleman Johnson has expressed grievances with some Nigeria medical Doctors for abandoning patients who suffer other ailments for coronavirus in various hospitals across the country.
The clergy described the act as absurd, saying that patients are dying from other diseases, while urging doctors to put maximum effort they are putting in treating coronavirus to the treatment of other ailments.
“Patients are dying in hospitals because doctors have focused majorly on those with COVID-19,” Suleman said in a Twitter post.
“There were pre-existing cases in those hospitals before the pandemic. This is an absurdity taken to the highest pinnacle. Doctors, pls attend to patients with other ailments.”
But one of Apostle Johnson’s followers, Sola, has disagreed with him, saying that only designated hospitals are handling COVID-19 patients.
Sola said, “I disagree with this view. The majority of hospitals (private & public) are not attending to COVID-19 cases. Private & public hospitals are well open & attending to non-covid-19 cases all over Nigeria.”
But the Pastor insisted that three hospitals that are handling COVID-19 patients have sidelined persons with other conditions. He further said that he knows two families that have lost relatives due to alleged negligence on the part of the medical doctors.
The Apostle wrote, “The 3 hospitals I know are handling COVID-19 cases, so I don’t understand what you mean. There are 2 notable families who must not see your tweet because they are mourning their loss now. The doctors refused to attend to them claiming their focus is COVID-19.”
But another of his followers named Ayodele insinuated that Nigerian Doctors may be avoiding patients because the latter have refused to speak the truth regarding their travel history, thereby exposing the doctors to COVID-19.
“Do you know the number of health workers exposed to COVID-19 because patients and their families misled them not volunteering travel history and other information needed. Check the Delta scenario where young youth Corp members were exposed,” Ayodele wrote.
