The Akanu Ibiam International Airport, Enugu is back on stream with international flights following it’s reopening by the Federal government of Nigeria.

The Airport which has international status in the Southeast region of Nigeria was closed down two years ago to pave way for repairs by the Federal Ministry of Aviation.

After the reopening on Saturday, the Ethiopian Airlines was first to resume operations.

A traveller who shared the moment with Airport correspondents has this ton say: “This is really great for the economy of Enugu and in particular, Nigeria in general.”

While thanking President Muhammadu Buhari for the feat, he however regretted the huge revenue loss by the Federal government and airliners over the long delay that saw the facility closed down for two years.

He encourage passengers from the Southeast to fly using the Airport henceforth.
