Abducted former Provost dies in crossfire between vigilantes, kidnappers in Kogi
The former Provost, Chief Osadumo who was kidnapped about two weeks ago has been hit by bullet in exchange of fire between vigilantes and his abductors.
He was kidnapped two Sundays ago from ECWA Church in Okedayo-Kabba, Kogi State, where one person was killed, and his wife and other worshippers were shot.
Since then he has been in his abductors custody while ransom was being demanded before his release.
Abduction has taken place a week after Kabba prison break and also poultry farmers were abducted from their farms in the same community.
Sources said kidnappers were trailed to a forest in Ogori Magogo community in Kogi Central Senatorial district.
Kidnappers opened fire after sighting the vigilantes before a return of fire that bullet eventually hit their captors.
Osadumo’s remains which was recovered has been deposited at the Ogori General Hospital by the vigilantes.
The wife and the other students, who were shots during the Sunday service, are still recuperating in an undisclosed hospital in the state capital, Lokoja.
