Prof. Alabi of Kogi State University kidnapped, N20 million ransom demanded
A professor of Management Sciences of the Kogi State University Anyigba, John Alabi was on Monday kidnapped by the suspected gunmen.
Reports said the gunmen were five in number who stormed at his house at about 6.00pm and picked him from the gate.
Professor John Alabi is the Dean, Faculty of Management Sciences of Kogi State University, Anyigba in Kogi East Senatorial district.
Immediately he was kidnapped, the abductors were to drive him in his own car, but got stuck. They now bundled him into their own getaway Mercedes Benz car with which they later took him away while shooting sporadically to scare people from chasing them.
On Tuesday, the kidnappers called Alabi’s wife and the KSU management to demand for N20 million ransom.
Kogi State Police Command through the Spokesperson, DSP William Aya has confirmed the abduction of the Dean to journalists.
Aya said the Commissioner of Police, CP Idrisu Dauban has directed a special squad to rescue the academician alive and arrest the kidnappers.
