Plateau based NGO presents food stuff to attack victims

A non-governmental organization known as Plateau Our Heritage has distributed some food stuffs to four communities of Miango, Zangam and in Riyom LGA of Plateau State.

The Convener, Hon. Pam Ayuba said
“We are to project and protect the heritage of Plateau State, and this is the second time we are making such efforts to ameliorate the suffering of victims of attacks and crisis that took over so many lives and properties worth millions of naira destroyed.

“The first was in Miango, and the second today is in three communities of Zangam in Jos North LGA, Miango in Bassa LGA and Kum village in Riyom LGA of Plateau State.

Ayuba said the significant of the gesture is the demonstration of the pains of members of the organization by contributing towards touching lives of those in the affected communities.

“What we are presenting is a little token. It may not take away the hunger in the land, but the significance of us sharing in your pains spur others to do same even as pocket of killings is still ongoing.

Hon. Alex Kwapnoe disclosed that
the organization consist of eminent personalities cutting across both public and private sector within and outside the country with the mission of protecting the heritage of ancient tin city of Jos.

“We have people in government, Commissioners, Directors, Professors, people in the industry are members of this organization.

“This gesture could have come long before now, but while we were putting modalities to visit Miango again. Attacks took place also in Zangam, and in Kum community of Riyom LGA. And we had to ensure that the little we have should be spread, it may not be much but it is our way of identifying with you people.”

The group which presented bags of maize, catoons of indomies, bags of salt, nuddles with a call on spirited individuals to also reach out to the aftected families and communities in general, charged security agencies in the state to take early warning signals very serious towards being proactive than reactive at all time.

The President of Irigwe Development Association, Prince Robert Ashi while speaking on behalf of the benefiting communities described the gesture as a blessing to them and promised to delivered the donated items to those directly affected in the attacks.
