ECWA insists on Justice, equity as solution to peace in Nigeria
The President of Evangelical Church Winning All (ECWA) Rev. Dr. Stephen Baba Panya has said for Nigeria to enjoyed total Peace in all states of the Federation there should be justice, equity and fair play on the part of Government and the all the Security agencies.
Panya stated this on Wednesday when he visited the Victims of August attacks in Zangam Community of Jos North Local Government behind the University of Jos to donates reliefs materials.
“If we want lasting Peace in this nation, then it is important that both the Federal and States Government and the security agencies arrest and prosecute all those who attacks and killed innocent citizens and do all manner of evil should be arrested and ensure justice, because lasting Peace can only come if there is justice, equity and fair play “.
He described as “heartless” the killings of over 100 members of ECWA in Jebu Maingo and Zangam communities of Jos North and Bassa LGCs of the State in August, 2021 and no arrest made.
“Nigerian security agencies to should intensify effort in investigating and fishing out such bad and criminal elements responsible for the Irigwe massacres and the Yelwa Zangam killings from all quarters, without discrimination or injustice and make them all face the full wrath of the law.
The Church also said: “It is very sad and most unfortunate that killings have persisted in Plateau State, in spite of the commendable initial response and effort of the Plateau State Governor, in mobilising the various security arms, to stem the tide of the unrest and killings.”
The clergy while donating the reliefs materials to includes, 11bags of Maize, 11 bags of Rice, 20 bundles of Zincs, 10 bundles of nails and three bags of clothings urged the community to put their trust in God.
He said relief Materials is to cushion the suffering of the Victims.
“We have come to encourage you and to pray for Peace in Plateau State and Nigeria, blessed are the peace makers because they shall be call the children of God.
He said no matter the provocation, Christians should always remain Peace Makers.
