Breaking: Plateau PDP suspends erring members
Plateau State Peoples Democratic Party, PDP Caretaker Committee has suspended three erring members of the party for conducting themselves in a manner inimical to the progress of the party and for violating the Constitution of the party.
The State Publicity Secretary of the Caretaker Committee, Hon. Emmanuel Goa’r who disclosed this while speaking with newsmen at the party secretariat in Jos said the three identified as Hon. Vincent Wadung, Moses Dung Nyam, and Kenneth Dung were expected to face a disciplinary committee.
According to him, in as much as the Caretaker Committee is saddled with the responsibility of repositioning the party ahead of the State Congress slated for Saturday, the Committee is duty-bound to maintain discipline among members in line with the party Constitution.
“In the course of our assignment as the Caretaker Committee, we faced myriad of challenges and were able to overcome them. PDP is a well-structured political party, it has the constitution guiding its operations. And that is why the party is quite different from any other political party and the reason why the party is still standing.
“For this reason, three members of the party namely Hon. Vincent Wokdung, Moses Dung Nyam, and Kenneth Dung all of which are from Jos South Local Government Area have been suspended. They have received their letters of suspension, they are to face disciplinary committee” he said.
On the State Congress of the party slated for Saturday, Hon. Goa’r said issues raised before the coming of the Caretaker Committee have been resolved and disposed of adding that all stakeholders including members have all agreed to put the past behind them and work for the progress of the party.
Said he: “Some of these issues that led to litigations which include no screening of aspirants before the last aborted state congress have been taken care of. Names of all aspirants will be displayed, we want to display a transparent approach and there is going to be transparency.”
He further disclosed that the National Secretariat of the party has extended the sales of forms to give every party member equal opportunity to contest.
