Nasarawa Deputy governor donates cash to women in Lafia
In an effort to cushion the economic hardship confronting many households in Nasarawa State, Deputy Governor, Emmanuel Akabe has donated N1.3 million to one hundred women in Lafia in to assist them in their small businesses.
“My little contribution towards uplifting your economic status and when you utilize it properly, it will go in no small measure in bringing you out of poverty.
He confirmed that apart from one hundred and thirty women selected from the 13 ward in Lafia, programme was kicked started in his county home, Doma Local Government where no fewer than 200 male and female benefited from his gesture.
Dr. Akabe also revealed plans to extend the cash donations to other Local Government Areas that constituted, Nasarawa South Federal Constituency, adding that plans are underway to expand the programme to Northern and Western Senatorial zone in the state.
“Just like I have mentioned, the motive behind this donation is to give our women a sense of direction in their petty businesses.
Earlier in his remarks, Senator Umar Al-Makura shower commendations on his political son, who he described as someone with zeal and determination to proffer solutions to economic hardships of women within the Senatorial zone.
He charged the beneficiaries to use the money given to them judiciously to better their lifestyles.
Senator Al-makura used the gathering to advised other political office holders to emulate, Dr. Emmanuel Akabe.
Some of the beneficiaries who spoke to , CAPITAL POST thanked the number two man for the gesture and hands of fellowship extended to them, just as they promised to use the funds to boost their businesses.
