Some traditional rulers and political godfathers in Nasarawa State are having sleepless nights as some politicians who want to be appointed Commissioners by the State governor, Engr, Abdullahi Sule have been busy visiting them at nights to lobby.

Relations of governor Sule and the State Chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) were also not left out as politicians daily visit their homes to lobby.

Change of Name

The development followed hints that the State governor was planning to reconstitute the Executive Council which has been dissolved after 18 months they were inaugurated.

Our correspondent reports that both former and new politician are seeking for the jobs are having frequents Emirs palace with some meeting former governors and Senators who has ear of the State governor asking to be part of the State Executive Council.

Source confirmed that immediately Governor Sule announced the dissolution of his cabinet, Commissioners who served for eighteen months and others who are interested to serve commenced lobbies in earnest.

CAPITAL POST reports that, Governor Sule disengaged fourteen Commissioners out of fifteen leaving the State Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Barrister Abdulkareem Kana.

Along the dissolution of the State Executive Council were some political aides of the governor.

Baring any last minute changes, findings by our Correspondent revealed that four out of the sacked Commissioners may return to their seats namely, Hajiya Halima Ahmad Jabiru, former Commissioner of Women Affairs and social Development, Hajiya Fati Jimaita Sabo, Education, Dogo Shamma Information and Culture, Yusuf Aliyu Turaki Local Government, Chieftaincy Affairs and Community Development.

Though some citizens and politicians expressed their divergent view on how the appointment of new Commissioners should be, others believed that
Governor Sule should carefully select those that will form his new cabinet for the benefit of the generality of the state.

“As you are aware that our Governor is a man who perform his duties with the fear of Allah, therefore, those that will be appointed should be those that have the same ideology”, they stated.

Others appealed to Governor Sule not to allow space for lobbying each time there is any vacancy position.

“You know allowing or delayed in replacement of any position created a serious competition among those seeking for same opportunity.”
