‘I thought Buhari doesn’t listen to people’ – Fani-Kayode
Chief Femi Fani-Kayode who defected to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) on Thursday in Abuja said some of his criticisms of President Muhammadu Buhari were misdirected.
The former Chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) admitted his wrongdoing about his criticisms of Buhari, saying that he didn’t know much of him at that time.
He said it was clear to him that the perception he had about President Buhari at that time, which many people have was wrong, adding that he could work, build bridges and unite the country in together.
Fani-Kayode said: “A man that I believe would not listen to anybody else in the past, I was quite wrong on that. With his receptive ears, his reception, and those around him; I have seen that definitely this is a man that one can work with provided you go through the right channels.”
He was formally introduced to President Muhammadu Buhari at Aso Rock Presidential Villa, Abuja by the governor of Yobe State and Chairman of APC Caretaker Committee, Mai Mala Buni.
Present at the meeting with Buhari was also the governor of Zamfara State, Hon. Mohammed Bello Matawalle who Fani-Kayode said was among the three governors, he earlier advised them to defect to PDP.
