The Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development, Sadiya Umar-Farouq has said the N20,000 Conditional Cash Transfer of Federal government can only be accessed per one member per household.

She  said the conditional cash transfer is to support citizens amid the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
Sadiya.Farouq disclosed this at a briefing on COVID-19 in Abuja on Tuesday.

Change of Name

Farouq made the clarification in response to claims that members of same families had received the N20,000 palliative from the federal government.

“This is near impossible because the process involved is a very tedious one, where all critical stakeholders in the community are involved.

“The faith-based organisations, leaders of the community and other stakeholders are the ones who came up with the list of those to benefit from the intervention in that particular community.

“And if you go through the list, every particular household must be captured in all three or four of the lists being managed by that community.

“So it is almost impossible for the same members of a household to get this intervention.”

Farouq stressed that the claim was “highly impossible” but promised to look into the matter.
