Immigration: Mohammed Babandede bows out, Idris Jere takes over as Comptroller- General
The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) Comptroller General, Muhammad Babandede has taken a bow out of service.
Babandede, who was appointed as Comptroller-General in 2016, bowed out after 36 years of service with the NIS.
At the valedictory service held in his honour at the NIS headquarters on Friday, the immigration boss said he his happy he is leaving the service better than he met it.
He commended officers and men for their supports in the tremendous changes made under his leadership.
He however urged that they keep the flag flying and discard anything that will bring the Service to condemnation.
Mohammed Babandede further assured that he will be an ambassador of the immigration service.
Meanwhile, Deputy Comptroller-General in charge of Finance and Account, Idris Isah Jere has been appointed to head the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) in an acting capacity.
Serving and retired officers as well as Babandede’s family members and friends were in attendance to honour him.
