Joint security operatives repel bandits from invading Shinkafi town in Zamfara

Swam of bandits were engaged by the Police operatives and other security agents thereby prevented them from over running Shinkafi town in Zamfara State.

Bandits who came in their hundreds were repelled and they beat a retreat due to fire power of security operatives amid pandemonium and tension.

The Police Public Relations Officer of Zamfara State Command disclosed this in a statement on Friday in Gusau, which was made available to journalists.

The statement which was signed by SP Muhammad Shehu, said the criminals were from the camp of a notorious bandits kingpin called Turji.

Due to imminent threat of invasion and cases of endless attacks in Zamfara State, the Police explained that security operatives have all these stationed in Shinkafi to protect lives and properties.

The statement which was obtained by CAPITAL POST explained that one of the attackers was fatally injured, while many others escaped with gunshot wounds.

Further to the encounter, Zamfara State
Commissioner of Police, Ayuba Elkanah ha directed the immediate deployment of more security operatives to complement the existing security arrangements against any future attacks.

“I commend operatives for their gallantry and resilience and I urge the operatives to sustain the tempo”, Commissioner of Police said.
