Plateau youths takes corpses of Yelwa Zangam to State House of Assembly
Plateau State youths on Wednesday took corpses of victims of Tuesday’s attack to the State House of Assembly in protest.
Bandits on Tuesday visited attack on Yelwa Zangam community in Jos North Local Government and carried out a heinous killing of 35 persons while several houes were raged.
Receiving the corpses, the Speaker, Plateau House of Assembly, Abok Ayuba, has called for calm and restraint over Tuesday’s attack on the Yelwa Zangam community in the state by gunmen.
Members of Yelwa community lamented the attack and asked the State legislature to intervene in the menace.
The Speaker pleaded for calm and asked the people to maintain peace, adding that any action would deteriorate the fragile situation in the State.
“We are all affected by what is happening in Plateau, but please, calm down as the government is doing everything possible to end the killings.
“We are your representatives, we are going to follow up with relevant authorities to ensure that peace returns to the state,” he said.
